Various beaches in Cape Town

One of the reasons why Cape Town is named one of the most beautiful cities in the world are the various beaches. Here are the most popular ones:

Camps Bay Beach

Perfect for: Swimming, suntanning, beach volleyball,

With its fine sand and many palm trees, this long beach is great for a family getaway. Camps Bay Beach is located right on the palm-fringed Beach Road. The shops and restaurants stretch invitingly along the beachfront promenade.

Clifton Beaches (1-4)

Perfect for: Swimming, suntanning, beach volleyball, “see and be seen”

The four white sandy beaches of Clifton are divided by granite boulders and protected from the wind.

Blouberg and Milnerton Beaches

Perfect for: Kitesurfing, surfing, walks along the promenade, photography

These long and sandy beaches in the North of Cape Town offer breath-taking views of Table Mountain. The wind offers perfect conditions for kitesurfers.

Llandudno Beach

This dream beach is situated 20 km south of Cape Town. A little secluded from the main beach in Llandudno, you will find the only nudist beach in Cape Town.

Noordhoek Beach

Perfect for: Horse-riding, flying a kite, long walks, experienced surfers.

Fine white and sandy beach. almost untouched and almost deserted. Horse riding on the beach is available.

Muizenberg Beach

Perfect for: Swimming, sunbathing, surfing

Muizenberg Beach is great for families. The water here is warmer (False Bay). You will also find the popular colourful wooden beach huts here.

Fish Hoek Beach

Perfect for: Swimming, sunbathing

Relatively sheltered from the wind. Warmer water due its location in the False Bay (influenced by the warmer Agulhas current).  There is a café right on the beach, a playground and various benches to enjoy the view.
