Wine Tasting in Constantia

The beautiful Constantia Valley near Cape Town offers several renowned wine estates that you can visit, e.g., Steenberg, Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Constantia Uitsig, Constantia Glen and Eagle’s Nest. The vineyards at the eastern slope of Table Mountain are considered the oldest in South Africa. Here, you can sample the famous wines, enjoy fantastic views or go on a wine cellar tour. Some of the best-known wines are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinotage.  

Steenberg Wine Farm

Steenberg is the oldest registered farmstead in South Africa. This wine farm is famous for its Sauvignon Blanc or “Méthode Cap Classique”. After interesting explanations about each wine you can also taste them – in thelounge or on the outdoor terrace with spectacular views.

Groot Constantia

Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa. It was founded in 1685. Its vineyards are located in a steep valley on the eastern side of Table Mountain. You can go on a tour where you can vist the wine cellar and the beautiful manor house.
