Paragliding over / in Cape Town

On sunny days, you can see a lot of paragliders over the Atlantic seaboard in Cape Town. The launch site for paragliders is either Lion‘s Head or Signal Hill (a meadow on top). From here, they glide down in several turns towards the Atlantic Ocean.

The flight takes around 5 – 20 minutes (depending on the wind) and leads the paragliders over the Sea Point skyscrapers and sometimes even over Clifton.

Even if you don`t have any experience in paragliding, you can still book a tandem flight where you will be attached to the pilot and follow their instructions. This way, you can enjoy a carefree flight and beautiful views of Cape Town and the ocean from above.

There are two landing sites available – depending on the operator and the wind conditions.

The first option is to land on the grass at the Sea Point promenade, the second one is to land on the big meadow in Camps Bay (right in front of the beach bar “The Bungalow”).

After the flight, the operators bring their guests back to Signal Hill where they can fetch their belongings.

There is also the option to receive a video of your flight.
